Balcones Recycling Materials Recovery Facility
San Antonio, Texas
General Contractor: KDW
CSE provided electrical installation for the 145,000 square foot ground-up construction of Balcones Recycling’s San Antonio plant. Delivered as a design-build partnership with KDW, this project required large-scale electrical infrastructure to support one of the most advanced recycling operations in the country.
Balcones, a privately owned company focused on sustainability and environmentally responsible processes, operates this state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility with a 50-ton-per-hour system and a fully automated container line, making it the most automated facility of its kind in the nation.
Electrical Scope Included:
• Main service installation and large-scale power distribution
• Equipment feeds for high-capacity processing systems
• Infrastructure to support automated container lines
• Industrial lighting systems
• Coordination with specialized recycling and sorting equipment
This facility demanded precision planning and execution to power complex automation systems and heavy-duty processing equipment. Our team ensured reliable, code-compliant installation capable of supporting continuous, high-output operations.
The result is a robust electrical backbone that supports high-efficiency recycling processes and reinforces Balcones’ commitment to innovation and sustainability.
